Good Day Cafe - Bath
If you’re looking for a place to banish away any January blues, then look no further than the Good Day Cafe. Even by its name alone, this delightful, dog-friendly cafe is on hand to help you have a great day. Now, if truth be told, I feel like I am a little late to the party featuring this delicious foodie spot on my blog, given they launched in Bath last October. So, let’s get straight to it!
Serving breakfast and lunch, as well as a delicious array of cakes, treats and hot drinks, from Tuesdays to Sundays, Good Day Cafe is a lovely location to remember for your next bite to eat in the city.
When Scott, myself and our little lady recently popped in for a light breakfast, we were impressed by just how accommodating the staff were towards our four-legged friend. Winnie was given lots of attention, and in return they received an abundance of licks! We soon found ourselves a cosy corner upstairs, piled our jackets onto the snug sofa and placed our food and drinks orders.
It was great to see that the menu featured a selection of drinks by The Juice Collective - a local and independent business that creates delicious, 100% organic cold-pressed juices. I opted for the ‘Carrot, Apple, Ginger and 'Lemon’ (£3.95). Scott, meanwhile, ordered a trusty favourite - a piping hot frothy ‘Latte’ (£2.75).
In hindsight, I regret not trying one of their super-lattes (Pink Beetroot, Golden Turmeric or Green Matcha) to go alongside my chilled drink. I first discovered these brightly coloured, healthy lattes over on the Good Day Cafe’s Instagram feed. I am intrigued by your hot pink appearance, ‘Pink Beetroot Latte’ (£3.00), so I shall certainly be ordering you, next time I stop by!
To accompany our drinks, we ordered a ‘Cinnamon Bun’ (apologies, I didn’t jot down the price) and a ‘Sausage Bap’ (£5.75).
My scrumptious pastry was rolled with care by local baker, Katherine Faraway. Again, it’s fantastic to see that the Good Day Cafe’s Owner and Manager, Steph, is promoting local businesses on her menu, where possible.
Scott’s sausage bap was very tasty indeed…
Oh, those puppy dogs eyes! She’d be the size of a house if I fed her every time she looked up at me like that! Having just polished off her own breakfast at home, Winnie unfortunately couldn’t comment (on this occasion!) what she thought of the food. However, she would remark that the service was very attentive and she very much enjoyed all the affection she received. She also had fun watching the world go by from our corner of the cafe (ah, well, that’s when she wasn’t eyeing up Dad’s sausage bap of course!)…
Good Day Cafe is a wonderful addition to Bath’s independent food scene, and, a visit here will be sure to put a smile on your face, and your pet’s too (if you have a dog, that is!).
From its pastel pink hues, abundance of well-tended house plants (that put mine back at home to shame!), jolly neon lighting, cheery staff and great food and drinks offerings, you can be sure an experience here will stand you in good stead for the rest of your day!
If you would like to check out some sample menus, then head on over to Good Day Cafe here. Don’t forget to give them a follow over on Instagram if you would be keen to keep up to date on all of their news. I recently discovered, via their feed, that they occasionally host events and workshops, so you may find an event that piques your interest too.
