Pug & Puffin - Bath
Winnie and I recently visited Pug & Puffin on the hunt for her very first harness and jacket. I have always wanted an excuse to pop into this truly delightful gift shop, which is home to a treasure trove of unique treats, toys and accessories for you and your dog. Located in one of Bath's most charming shopping district's, Northumberland Place, Pug & Puffin is an absolute must if you are a 'pawrent'. Or, if you have a friend or relative who is, then don't hesitate a moment longer, as you'll be sure to find the perfect gift for any dog lover or their pet!
What with it being so chilly outdoors and Winnie not able to travel by foot just yet, we journeyed over to Pug & Puffin via the cosiest means possible...
If you are a new puppy owner, or thinking of becoming one, I highly recommend purchasing a pet carrier bag, although perhaps not that practical if you have a larger breed of course! For us, this is the only way our pup can currently explore the world until she has completed her course of vaccinations. Winnie is at an important stage in her development where it is vital she socialises and becomes acquainted with the environment around her.* Especially as we live in such a bustling city, I am keen for her to be exposed to sights and sounds that she will experience on a daily basis.
*Our vet recommended a really fantastic handbook named The Happy Puppy which has been my 'go to' since Winnie joined our family. It offers invaluable advice on puppy care and useful early training tips which I have found very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate grabbing a copy if you have welcomed a furry friend into your nest recently too!
Just a side note, but I will be posting a blog about my experiences as a new puppy owner to date, soon, and what advice and suggestions I feel I can give to any of you who may find it beneficial.
Now back to Pug & Puffin and a quick stop to admire the fabulous photo booth upstairs. Unfortunately, on this occasion, I didn't capture Winnie on the smart sofa here, but when she is a little older I will bring her back to get that all important shot!
I thoroughly enjoyed discovering all the wonderful gifts galore...
You'll spot breed specific cards, coasters, cushions, coffee cups and much, much more.
So, if you are on the hunt for a fun and quirky present look no further.
How could you resist any of these adorable faces wanting to find a happy home!
As well as a colourful selection of harnesses, leads and collars, Pug & Puffin also stocks more unusual canine attire such as bow ties and doggy bandanas.
Although it will come as no surprise that Pug & Puffin is a dog-friendly shop, the staff were so genuinely welcoming to Winnie, which made the whole experience of shopping (albeit working on this occasion!) with a furry companion really enjoyable and stress-free.
As an example, Winnie was able to try on different harnesses and jackets on top of the counter and it wasn't long before we found the perfect fit, thanks to the really helpful staff instore.
With her new outfit, it was time to venture back home for a well earned snooze, and, a new blog post to edit for me!
Thanks to the store owner, Jenny, for allowing me to photograph and document my experience at Pug & Puffin. Winnie and I look forward to meeting your resident pug, Noah, in the not too distant future!
