Frontlinestyle - Bath
We can definitely start talking about Christmas now, can’t we? (Shhh don’t tell anyone, but, I already have in my prior blog post!) The streets of Bath will very soon be transformed by all the festive magic that the Bath Christmas Market brings to our city at this time of year. So we can’t help but turn our attention to those all-important Christmas gift lists. Now, before you hotfoot it down to the shops or fire up your internet browser, pause for a moment whilst I share with you a really thoughtful gift idea that I believe you or a loved one would be delighted to receive this Christmas…
Before I reveal what it is, I think it’s safe to say, most of us, if not all of us, lead very busy lives. Whether that’s rushing around after the children, having a never-ending list of work deadlines or emails to address, the constant upkeep of house chores, or, of course, the parties to plan and the many supermarket trips to tackle in the lead up to the festive season. Well, if you (or someone you know) can relate to any of the above, then you (or they!), my reader, deserve to be pampered! A little time to one’s self really does go along way, and mark my word, by the time we are finished here, you will be walking on clouds…
A multi award-winning boutique hair salon and beauty spa located on Monmouth Street. Housed in a Grade II listed building, Frontlinestyle was once a ‘micro museum’, but, when it was re-opened for business in 2003 by its owner, Frances Urwin, the entire building had been renovated from scratch. It’s hard to believe it when you see it now, but I have been told that it was once completely black - definitely not a place to unwind in or feel soothed from top to toe! How a fresh lick of paint and a modernised interior can change things around! Since its opening, Frontlinestyle has been renowned for its ‘state-of-the-art facilities’ and its highly trained team of beauty therapists and hair stylists…
They are an ‘accredited Wella and L’Oreal professional salon’ as well as a ‘ghd destination salon’. Moreover, they offer ‘Great Lengths hair extensions’ and are ‘premium wigs specialists’ too. In beauty, they stock much-loved and trusted brands such as Caudalié, Clarins and Phytomer (the no.1 spa brand in America).
Now, to the gift idea that’s been on the tip of my tongue since I began writing this post. Right, we just need to make our way over to the ‘Relaxation Area’ and, whilst we sip on a fresh Pukka organic tea, I’ll spill all the beans!
I am very excited to introduce you to a brand new treatment by Clarins; the heavenly Beauty Sleep Wellness Massage.
This 7o minute treatment promises deep relaxation, and is a great way to allow the body and mind to totally unwind. A wonderful, beneficial and much-deserved gift for yourself, or, someone you know who is feeling exhausted, stressed and possibly struggling to catch those much-needed z’s at night.
The massage is carried out in one of two treatment rooms on the top floor, ideally tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the salon on the ground floor, and the busier beauty/spa treatment rooms below.
I am delighted to say that I can share, first hand, the ‘Beauty Sleep Wellness Massage’ experience with you, as I was generously gifted this divine treatment by Frontlinestyle a few weeks ago.
Firstly, it is worth noting that this treatment is recommended towards the end of your day, to maximise your chances of complete relaxation - ready for a deep, uninterrupted sleep.
I arrived late afternoon to be welcomed by my lovely therapist, Lauren. Taking a seat in the treatment room, Lauren explained what the Beauty Sleep Wellness Massage treatment would entail, then it was time for me to de-robe down to my briefs and bury my limbs in the super comfy massage bed!
With ‘unique sensorial experiences, tension-relieving massage movements and plant-powered products' this wellness treatment by Clarins promotes a feeling of ‘infinite well-being for the body and mind, leaving your skin looking more radiant and soothed’. You will experience a ‘spiral, figure-of-eight movement’ which is carried out in a continual manner across the face and body, it is known as the ‘wellness touch,’ or, ‘lemniscate’, and it helps to regulate vital energy and achieve that state of total relaxation I mentioned earlier.
70 minutes later and I felt fully rested and restored. Enjoying that feeling of walking on clouds the moment I slipped on my shoes and headed outdoors into the fresh autumnal air. A quiet evening followed as I was keen to reap the full benefits of the treatment, and I can report back that I slept like a baby that night! (Although, I have never quite got my head around that saying, because, babies don’t sleep for a solid 7/8 hours - hmmm!) Anyway, nevertheless, I woke the next day with supple limbs, a spring in my step, and a weight lifted off my shoulders.
I would readily recommend popping the ‘Beauty Sleep Wellness Massage’ on your Christmas gift list, or suggest dropping helpful hints to your loved one over the coming weeks! Before I sign off, I must just mention that Clarins also have a ‘Rise and Shine Wellness Massage’. This revitalising treatment is designed to boost your mood and lift your spirits. Similarly to 'Beauty Sleep’, this treatment is new to Clarins and also lasts for 70 minutes. However, instead of leaving you feeling sleepy, it’s aimed to help you feel recharged, invigorated and ready to take on the day (or the evening!) ahead. The cost of each treatment is £70.00.

A huge thank you to Abi for inviting me in to review the new Clarins treatment, to Fran from Head of Beauty for the fantastic tour of the spa and salon, and to Lauren for my heavenly massage. It’s safe to say, I left feeling like a new woman! I look forward to seeing you all again soon!
