A Weekend Photography Project - the new Mazda6
Today, I am doing things a little differently here on my blog, and I am very excited to share with you the details of a recent photography assignment I participated in…
This past weekend I was loaned a brand new Mazda6 Saloon from the guys at Mazda Motors UK. But why, you may wonder? Well, currently, Mazda Motors UK are promoting a handful of the best commuter routes across our country with their #FromWhereIDrive campaign, and, one of them happens to be right on our doorstep.
A wonderfully scenic commuter route from Bath to Bristol, which takes you along the A431, is a drive I am familiar with. However, taking this model for a spin and finding some locations fit for photography, made me appreciate just how comfortable and picturesque this commuter route can be. Right, it’s time to get behind the wheel and showcase some of my favourite spots along the route! Let’s go!
*This is not a paid ad but I was kindly loaned the Mazda6 for a weekend to take a series of photos for this #FromWhereIDrive campaign. I saw it as a great reason to also test out shooting some car photography.
Of course, looking out onto lovely rolling countryside and driving past quaint villages undoubtedly adds to this being one of the best commuter routes in the UK...
Driving through the small, rural village of Kelston, you could almost be fooled into thinking this is not actually a fairly busy commuter route! An abundance of autumnal trees, plenty of dog walkers, not forgetting the local pub and THE best cheese toasties in town from Bath Soft Cheese Company!…
Ah, did I mention just how chilly it was on Sunday morning when Scott and I got up at sunrise to drive from Bath to Bristol for the purposes of this assignment?! When it’s a cool 3 degrees outside, it’s certainly not a temperature I like to hang around in for long. Well, thankfully our Mazda6 came to my rescue when I switched on the heated front seats. Nice and toasty until the next stop!
Here are a few close-up shots, and, I am going to confess that I was fond of those shiny alloy wheels - maybe I am a secret petrolhead? Who knew!
Scott and I had a great time taking the Mazda6 out on a number of occasions. Early morning mists to starry night skies - we experienced a smooth, enjoyable and picturesque drive, from dusk till dawn over the weekend!
