The Paint Republic Party, The Boat House - Bradford On Avon

When you think of heading to a party on a Friday evening, you may envisage catching up with friends over music, great food and drinks? Well, I want to introduce you to all of this, but throw in an extra artistic twist...

A couple of weeks ago, I attended The Paint Republic party which took place on a Friday night at The Boat House in Bradford on Avon. There were groups of friends catching up over lively music, food and cocktails, all whilst unleashing their inner Picasso!

First up, you don't have to have an ounce of creativity to get involved with The Paint Republic party, as the artwork you produce is not there to be judged or critiqued by others.

This sociable event is simply about having fun and getting creative, whether an artistic flair lies within or not!

I was kindly invited to experience what The Paint Republic party has to offer first hand, and was excited to arrive to the venue for 7pm, just before the party got into full swing. With picturesque views looking out onto the Bradford on Avon Marina, we all assembled by our blank canvases, paint brushes poised, and cocktails readily to hand!

Our subject matter for the evening was this 'Birds on a Wire' canvas painting, which we soon began to bring to life on our own canvases throughout the evening, helped along every step of the way by the professional guide of an expert artist.

With all materials provided, you don't have to panic that you left your paintbrushes at home!

All that creative concentration warranted a brief interlude, so we placed our brushes and paint pots down and enjoyed a delicious selection of canapés...

There were savoury bites including; mini fish and chips with tartare sauce....

Tasty chargrilled chunks of chicken sitting on a bed of herby risotto, and, a yummy caramelised shredded duck and potato dauphinoise ensemble!

These moreish savoury bites were polished off nicely with profiteroles and fruity crumble pots topped with mini marshmallows.

Re-fuelled with food and cocktails, we continued to bring our paintings to life whilst catching up with our friendly neighbours!

As darkness fell outside, our paintings glowed brightly as we added the finishing touches to our own versions of 'Birds on a Wire.' All too soon the party came to an end, but we happily headed off home with our newly created masterpieces!

I would thoroughly recommend a visit to The Paint Republic Party as a fun way to socialise with your friends. The next painting party at The Boat House takes place on Friday 19th May 7-9pm. You can find out more and book your tickets here
