A Night-Time Tour of Bath

I thought I'd post something a little bit different this week. I have recently joined the world of Pinterest, and, whilst setting up my pin boards, I started to search for images of Bath at night, for my board, 'Hi, Bath.' However, I struggled to find many night-time shots of the city that inspired me, or, got me reaching for the 'pin' button! So, I thought I would take matters into my own hands. With this in mind, out came my Canon EOS 600D SLR and tripod, and off I wandered into the city with Scott one evening last week, as the sun settled down for the night. I wanted to capture Bath's most iconic landmarks, and see how the lights from passing cars, sodium or LED street lamps, and lit rooms from properties nearby, would effect the outcome of the photos. If you are a fellow Bathonian, or, have ever passed through the city during the day, you will certainly be familiar with the honey-coloured Bath stone that glistens majestically in sunlight. The city is blanketed in the most glorious Georgian architecture, and filled with narrow cobbled streets that dart off in all directions! They often reveal lovely little coffee shops, art galleries and independent boutique shops. With so much to see and do, Bath soon wakes up to the flurry of early morning commuters rushing to work, and florists setting up shop for the day. Soon after, the high street opens its shop front doors, welcoming in locals, tourists, yummy mummies, and, ladies that lunch! Yet, come darkness, the streets change scenery; there will be students and party goers disturbing some of the silence and solitude, but, you can find quieter spots (like the ones I captured below) giving you perfect photo opportunities! Here is my night-time tour of Bath, I hope you'll enjoy it... :)
