Taste of Bath Launch Night at The Electric Bear Brewery - Bath
Last Wednesday evening, I attended the first ever public event for Taste of Bath. Established in 2015 by "artisan terrine and pâté producer...[and] avid foodie" (www.taste-of.co.uk) Helen Rich, Taste of Bath offers a personalised hamper service, a #crateyourown if you will! The concept is simply to link "customers and local artisan producers." I can't think of a better gift to give to friends and family; a gorgeous artisan crate stuffed to the brim with delicious, local produce, coming from within a 10 mile radius of Bath. This concept is innovative, unique and very exciting; Helen explains that lots of her competitors are creating hampers, but with products sourced from all over the country; "Scottish shortbread, jam from Cornwall and wine from France." It makes absolute sense to focus much closer to home, and besides, Bath has a plethora of wonderful producers on its doorstep; from cheese mongers to brewers, and, chocolatiers to bakers!
There was lots of sampling and sipping to be had (which was fine by me!) I was delighted to discover Henny & Joe's yummy chai syrup (I have since been drinking copious amounts of chai latte's and chai tea at home!) The Bath Soft Cheese company showcased their famous Bath Blue, an absolute favourite of mine, and, then there was the most moreish pâté de campagne from Rich Pickings, I think I have ever tasted!
Take a look at the snaps I took during the evening, let me know what you think. But! Be warned, if you are feeling peckish, you might want to grab a sandwich whilst you scroll through the photos, as there are tempting, enticing treats that may make your tummy rumble!...
I would definitely recommend checking out Taste of Bath, especially with Easter just around the corner. Why not spoil all the family to a gorgeous hamper packed full of tasty goodies this year? Easter eggs, fudge, pickles, bottles of beer, biscuits, cheese and much, much more!
